How to Paint Pokéball Nails in True Pokémon Fashion
Pokémon is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
I’m 25.
Coincidence? I think not!
Okay, it very likely is a coincidence, but Pokémon has been and continues to be a big part of my life. To this day, I buy the latest games in the series when they are released, pick up a pack of Pokémon cards at the store, and even spend my commute to school battling gyms in Pokémon Go (let’s not talk about my frequent trips to McDonald’s during the Pokémon Happy Meal promotion).
While I love Pokémon just as much as I did when I played my first game at age 8, another reason I’ve kept up with it is because I’ve spent many summers working as a camp counselor. Being able to recognize the newest Pokémon by name, and teach them the actual rules for trading card battles, helped me get along with the kids better.
One summer, my group was even named the “Squirtle Squad.” To honor the squad, I decided I’d paint my nails to look like Pokéballs. They were a big hit then, and I love recreating the look today for myself, too. It’s an easy thing I can do with nail polish colors I already have, and should I ever run out, I can find what I need quickly at a nearby drugstore.
Whether you’re picking up your first Pokémon game, or you’ve long since been a Pokémon Master, this is a quick and fun way to spice up a manicure, and it can be customized to suit whichever Pokéball is your favorite! We hope you continue your Pokémon journey in style!
